A Little About Me and This Blog

Hi, I’m shinbay. Welcome to Shinbay Notes.
Born and raised in Japan, I now live in the quiet countryside of Kansai, working as a self-employed freelancer while studying psychology and exploring the heart and mind through daily life.

In the past, I practiced astrology and offered readings. While I no longer do astrology after embracing Buddhism, I still occasionally receive messages from people seeking support or guidance.

These days, I find myself more curious than ever—wanting to learn programming for better workflows, studying languages to connect with more people, and dreaming of exploring the world beyond Japan.
There’s so much to learn, and in a time where nearly anything can be looked up, my curiosity never seems to run out.

On this blog, I share:

  1. thoughts on relationships and emotions through the lens of Buddhism and psychology
  2. ideas for staying healthy and youthful through food, movement, and daily habits
  3. reflections on current topics in Japan, along with favorite places, food, and local travel

This is not a space for big answers or overnight success.
In Buddhism, awareness is said to be the first step.
So this blog is like a small lighthouse—for pausing, feeling, and finding joy in the quiet corners of daily life.
If these words can gently accompany someone’s heart, I’ll be grateful.
Thank you for being here.
